Cindy Lineberger Seeds of Hope Counseling Hickory NC

Hello beautiful soul! I can’t wait to meet you…

I'm so glad you're here.

My name is Cindy Lineberger. I’m a Licensed Therapist, Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP), Certified Mindfulness Informed Professional (CMIP), and Certified Coach who is passionate about helping women improve their mental health and wellbeing. I’m also a business owner, type A personality in recovery, step-mom, mid-life woman, crafter, divorcee, spoonie, wife, INFJ, highly sensitive person, rescue dog momma, and hope dealer!

I understand that seeking therapy can be a difficult decision, but I want to assure you that you've come to the right place. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. I offer expert and proven treatment of High Functioning Anxiety, Unworthiness, ADHD, Perfectionism, Anxious Attachment, Codependency, and Binge Eating/Chronic Dieting. When we can make meaning of our hurts we can turn them from pain into purpose. You, beautiful soul, have a purpose!

What sets me apart from others is I have lived through experience in addition to formalized trainings and certifications. I’ve been there and done that with plenty of mistakes and triumphs. I can bring an authentic perspective you simply can’t learn from ‘training’ alone. As a spoonie warrior myself, I set out to create what I couldn’t find when I needed it most. A safe space to truly take off my mask(s) and feel heard, validated, and understood without judgement or unhelpful advice. When you live with chronic invisible illness such as Lichen Sclerosus, POTS, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Cancer, Diabetes, Endometriosis, Uterine Fibroids, Menopause, Long Covid, Multiple Sclerosis, and or painful sex (Dyspareunia) it can wreck havoc on your self confidence, intimate relationships, friendships, and sense of purpose. I know because I’ve been diagnosed with several of the above mentioned and no one prepared me for the hell that followed. With Chronic Illness you not only deal with the actual illness itself but the impact of it on your life, career, and relationships! Loved ones want to help and sadly many professionals try mistakenly to encourage too early in treatment a gratitude mindset such as “Be grateful for…” when what’s often needed are tools to give a voice to all your feelings. There is a time for gratitude and there’s a time for grief…for many healing begins with acknowledgement, validation, and acceptance. I have found Acceptance and Commitment Therapy life changing for my clients and myself. From training under both the founder of ACT Steven Hayes and best selling author and trainer Russ Harris of The Happiness Trap; I am well equipped to help you ditch fear based living for values based living to create the me you want to be. I’m a life long learner and am excited to offer soon sex therapy to address the sexuality and relationship concerns that often arise from living with chronic illness and most specifically vulvar pain disorders through additional professional training to become a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional.

I incorporate evidence-based therapy approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing (MI) that have been proven to be effective, and I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs and goals of each client. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and I work closely with my clients to help them gain a deeper understanding of themselves and develop the tools they need to thrive.

Whether you’re here because you’re new to therapy for anxiety, low self esteem, disordered eating, or chronic illness and are curious...

OR you’re a therapy drop out from your teens where your parents “encouraged” you go and it sucked so you’re still a bit skeptical….

OR you’re a true therapy veteran who’s just not found the right fit….YOU ARE WELCOME HERE.

Are we a good match?

Welcoming all badass women who embrace curiosity and uncertainty, especially my fellow helpers – therapists, teachers, and social workers yearning for new possibilities. My specialization is women’s mental health specifically treating anxiety, life transitions, self defeating mindsets, and chronic illness. If you're quirky, awkward, or just feeling a bit unsure, consider this your shelter. As an INFJ and Highly Sensitive Person, I deeply understand the introverted mind. A staunch advocate for diversity, I wholeheartedly affirm LGBTQ+ clients and families. While I do not offer traditional 'couples therapy’ partners and family members are more than welcome to join as it can be very helpful for them to take part in learning how to best support your journey towards wellness. This can be especially true with my client’s who are living in chronic illness who’s life partners are unsure how to best be supportive.

I'm not your run-of-the-mill therapist; I'm a bit out of the box, love a good laugh, and thrive on authenticity. If you're seeking someone genuinely invested in your success, armed with the superpower of keeping it real, I'm your go-to gal. Let's embark on this transformative journey together. Schedule your FREE 15-min video Discovery call now to kickstart our journey towards growth and authenticity. 🌟

I’m not a great match if:

This space isn't ideal for those who aren't ready to dedicate themselves to progress, unable to attend sessions as scheduled, or solely seeking a space to vent without a commitment to transformative work. Additionally, I’m not a good fit if your care requires crisis counseling. Crisis counseling is not offered but I will provide you with crisis support information in your intake packet once your first appointment is scheduled. I am also happy to help you reach crisis support during standard business hours (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST). I often keep a waitlist, therefore I want to invite only the women who are ready to show up for themselves with intentionality. No judgement here because I’ve been there…knowing something may be a problem but at the same time it wasn’t enough of a problem yet. When I was almost 300lbs my doctors and family were rightfully concerned about my health and wellness and I wanted to be ready but at that time I would smile at my doctor nodding my head knowing in my soul I wasn’t ready to face my fears and insecurities yet. That time did come and knowing my WHY gave me the motivation to loose over 130lbs and keep it off. We’re simply not ready until we’re ready right? My practice is not ideal if you need lots of flexibility in scheduling such as ability to reschedule with less than 24 hours notice. This can be important when you have a job that requires you to be on call or have flexible availability for overtime. Online therapy platforms such as Betterhelp or Talkspace may be a better fit. SOHC offers appointments Tuesday-Friday 8AM - Noon only with Tuesday designated for telehealth. We are not a great match if you need afternoon or evening options. If you're not quite ready to dive into your journey of growth and self-discovery, no judgement here. Let's connect when you're fully prepared for this empowering adventure.
